The annual Vesak stall was again a success this year. On the 7 th of May 2023, on
the request of Lankarama Buddhist Association, UCAANSW organized the
‘String Hopper Stall’ at the Lankarama Buddhist Temple, Schofields. We
managed to sell 500 packets of string hoppers, each comprising string hoppers
and vegetarian curries: dhal curry, polos curry and pol sambol. String hoppers
were provided by courtesy of Lankarama Buddhist Association and UCAANSW
committee supplied the delicious vegetarian curries.
Many members volunteered to spend their valuable Sunday to help us at the
stall. We had some members who rolled out donations towards the purchase

of string hoppers as well. A sum of $5361.00 from the sale of food packets and
donations was presented to the Temple. It was a great team effort and a huge
success at this meritorious task.
