The 3 rd Cricket Carnival of Alumni Associations of six main universities of Sri
Lanka was held on the 21 st of May, 2023 in Parramatta. It was well attended
and actively participated by the Members of Alumni Associations of
Universities of Colombo, Sri Jayawardenepura, Peradeniya, Moratuwa,
Kelaniya, and Ruhuna. The highlight of this year was the addition of four
Women’s cricket teams. This event created a great opportunity for integration
and bonding between the Alumni and the wider Sri Lankan community in NSW.
We are grateful to Chef Ceylon who agreed to organise lunch packets at a
nominal fee. There was live Music and running commentary by Alumni
members. 

Dr Siri Kannangara was the Chief Guest and presented the Trophies to the
winners. The winners were Moratuwa University in men’s cricket and Sri
Jayawardenapura in women’s cricket, whilst Colombo University managed to
hold onto the runners-up position in both groups.
